OCHA: Palestinians most victimized by settlers in 2024
[Wed, 01 Jan 2025 18:09:02 +0300]

New York - Saba:
Settlers "were involved in approximately 1,400 incidents of violence against Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, including East Quds, during 2024," the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the occupied Palestinian territory (OCHA) said on Tuesday.

Attacks carried out by settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories have been documented for about 20 years, OCHA added in a statement, noting that settlers were involved in approximately 1,400 incidents during 2024.

It stated that the attacks included physical assaults, arson, and raids on Palestinian gatherings, in addition to damaging fruit trees and destroying property.

It noted that settlers were involved in approximately four daily incidents in the West Bank, including East Quds, in 2024, and that this resulted in the displacement of many Palestinians.

The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of about 160 thousand, the majority of whom are women and children, in an incomplete toll. In parallel, the settlers and the Israeli occupation army escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Quds, which resulted in the martyrdom of 835 citizens and the injury of 6,700 others, according to the Ministry of Health.
