Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, a member of the Supreme Political Council, attended on Thursday an event organized by the Forum for Modernity and Cultural Enlightenment to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the birth of martyr Abdulfattah Ismail.
The event was also attended by a distinguished group of writers, authors, and national figures.
Dr. Bin Habtoor highlighted Ismail's historical significance, noting his early role as a fighter against British colonialism and his leadership in Fedayeen camp in Aden province. He praised Ismail's legacy as an intellectual thinker, politician, and poet who shaped political education and thought for his generation.
He emphasized the need to preserve Ismail's intellectual contributions, which continue to inspire those fighting for freedom, social justice, and the removal of exploitation. He also discussed the revolutionary's powerful speeches, which reached both youth and adults, and the need to revive his literary and political works.
The event featured speeches by several prominent figures, including Abdulbari Taher, Yahya Abu Osba, Hoda Ablan, Dr. Hamoud al-Awdi, and poet Mohammed Mansour. These speeches celebrated Abdulfattah Ismail's life, his contributions to the struggle, and the importance of preserving his intellectual and revolutionary legacy.
