Ibb - Saba:
The Cleanliness and Improvement Fund in Ibb province held a speech event on Tuesday to mark the 57th anniversary of Yemen’s Independence Day, celebrated on November 30th.
During the event, province undersecretary Qassim al-Masawi emphasized that November 30th would forever remain etched in the memory of the Yemeni people as a symbol of their resilience and their rejection of all forms of dependency and foreign control.
Al-Masawi described the anniversary of Evacuation Day as an opportunity to strengthen the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in their struggle against colonial ambitions, while also supporting the Palestinian resistance.
He highlighted the sacrifices made by Yemenis to expel the British colonizers from the southern part of the country on November 30, 1967.
According to Al-Masawi, this day represents the collective efforts of Yemenis from both the north and south in defeating the British Empire, a force once believed to be invincible.
He also praised the people of the southern provinces for their strong stance against attempts by new foreign occupiers to undermine the independence of the south.
The event, attended by Head of the Cleanliness and Environmental Sanitation Sector Ahmed al-Janadi, also reflected on the ongoing struggles of the Yemeni people.
Al-Janadi noted that this year’s celebration of Independence Day coincides with the current liberation battles that the Yemeni people are fighting against hegemonic forces.
He stressed that Yemen's hard-won freedom on November 30th was the result of sacrifices made by martyrs from every region of the country.
Al-Janadi concluded by describing the anniversary as a powerful message to the forces of aggression and mercenaries: Yemen will forever remain a graveyard for invaders.
