The Ministry of Health and Environment held a commemorative event on Tuesday to honor the families of its martyrs, marking the annual Martyr’s Anniversary.
The event was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Abdulsalam Hashoul, as well as Ministers of Oil and Minerals Dr. Abdullah al-Amir, and Education and Scientific Research Hassan al-Sa'adi.
During the ceremony, Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban emphasized the significance of martyrdom, describing the martyrs as carriers of a noble mission and principles, who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland and its values. He called for continued commitment to the path of the martyrs, highlighting their role in ensuring the nation’s security and stability.
Dr. Shaiban also announced the launch of medical camps next week in collaboration with the General Authority for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and Sana'a University. These camps, aimed at providing medical care to martyrs' families, will feature a range of specialties.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Nasher al-Qaoud, spoke about the deep cultural and spiritual significance of martyrdom, stressing the need to preserve and promote the values of sacrifice, steadfastness, and jihad. He underscored that martyrdom is a divine grace, rooted in a just cause, and crucial in confronting external forces and preserving the nation's integrity.
The event also featured speeches from key figures, including Dhaif Allah al-Jaradi of the Supreme Academy for the Holy Quran, who reflected on the heroism of the martyrs, and Abduladhem al-Kebsi, who spoke on behalf of the martyrs’ families.
Al-Kebsi highlighted the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by martyrs in defending Yemen’s sovereignty, drawing connections to the ongoing struggles of the Palestinian people.
The event served as a tribute to the martyrs’ enduring legacy and their crucial role in Yemen’s struggle for independence and justice.
