Russian air defence systems shot down 12 Ukrainian drones over Kursk province and one over Belgorod province overnight.
The Russian Ministry of Defence said in a statement today, according to Sputnik: ‘Last night an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using drones on targets in the territory of Russia was thwarted, and the air defence systems on duty destroyed 13 drones, 12 of them in the Kursk region, and one over the territory of the Belgorod region.’
Russian regions along the border with Ukraine are periodically subjected to attacks with drones, shells and missiles, targeting civilian areas and infrastructure.
