Washington - Saba : Economic data showed, on Thursday, that the number of applications for unemployment benefits in the United States rose more than expected during the past week.

According to (Russia Today), according to data released by the US Department of Labor, the number of applicants rose by about six thousand applications in the week ending September 28 to 225 thousand applications.

Economists had expected the number of applicants to climb to 220,000 during the previous week.

The data suggests that the US labor market slowed down at the end of the third quarter of 2024, a situation that may allow the US Federal Reserve not to rush to make significant cuts in interest rates.
