Geneva – Saba:
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor confirmed on Thursday that "Israel" is deliberately using starvation as a weapon of war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The monitor said in a statement that "Israel" does not provide any objective evidence to support its allegations that Palestinian factions are stealing aid, and uses this as a pretext to divert attention from the deliberate use of starvation as a weapon of war.
It stated that the repeated and false Israeli allegations that Palestinian armed factions are stealing aid are used to justify preventing the entry of food, medicine, and fuel into Gaza.
The monitor explained that ANERA, an international relief organization operating in Gaza, confirmed that the aid arrived safely at its warehouses inside the Strip.
It pointed out that the Israeli entity is doing everything in its power to obstruct the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need in the Gaza Strip and is working to thwart any local initiatives in this regard.
It added: "A few hours after the success of a local initiative While securing the arrival of aid trucks to the warehouses of some relief organizations in Gaza City, Israel decided to prevent the entry of aid into the northern Gaza Strip.
Euro-Med Monitor noted that more than half of the population of the Gaza Strip is currently facing a catastrophic hunger crisis. During the month of May alone, more than 5,000 children were hospitalized due to severe malnutrition.
The Euro-Med Monitor called on the international community to reject Israel's allegations of aid theft, which have been repeatedly refuted by relief agencies.
It called on all relevant entities to pressure Israel to allow unconditional access to humanitarian aid into Gaza.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 56,259 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 132,458 others. This remains a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the roads, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
