HANOI - SABA :
The death toll from super typhoon Yagi , subsequent flooding and landslides has risen to 65 people in the northern region of Vietnam as of Tuesday morning, while 39 others are still missing.

The Vietnam News Agency quoted the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as saying: "752 people were also injured, with Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong City bearing the brunt with 536 and 81 people, respectively."

The rising waters of the Red River in Hanoi have submerged many of the city's inner districts since Monday night.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính decided to allocate VND100 billion (about four million U.S. dollars) from the central budget reserve for 2024 to support five provinces hit by the typhoon.
