OCHA: Gaza's health sector is unable to provide services & needs to provide medicines

NEW YORK September 07. 2024 (Saba)- The United Nations Agency for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Saturday that the Gaza Strip is in need of a large number of medicines.

According to a senior OCHA official, the number of trucks arriving in southern Gaza currently stands at 50 trucks per week, indicating that the agency cannot access the supplies we need in Gaza.

He explained that the food shortage is affecting children and vulnerable groups in Gaza, adding, "We have a huge shortage in the health sector and that affects the sick and wounded."

Earlier, OCHA emphasized that the distribution of humanitarian aid is almost impossible in Gaza Strip due to the lack of a regular flow of fuel , the continued Israeli aggression and the current situation has had a devastating impact on more than two million Palestinians who have been displaced from their houses.

It is noteworthy that the "Israeli" occupation forces occupied the Rafah border crossing with Egypt last May, two days after the army announced the start of the ground operation on Rafah city , which increased the difficulties of the living and economic conditions for all residents of Gaza Strip, including the displaced in the south and the steadfast in the north.
