NEW YORK September 05. 2024 (Saba) -The UN Deputy-Secretary-General for Political and Peace-Building Affairs and operation officer at UN OCHA Office late on Wednesday reiterated call for a ceasefire in Gaza Strip to allow for access to humanitarian assistance.
Nearly one year after the Gaza war began, a need emerges for more efforts to reach a ceasefire deal, OCHA Officer Edim Wasorno said in briefings to the UN Security Council at session on Mideast and Palestine Cause, hailing the efforts already exerted in this regard.
The recent developments in Gaza Strip and the West Bank "push us to stress again on the equal value of all the humans' life," Deputy Rose Mary told the UNSC.
The international human law's objective is to minimize wars' ramifications by putting the minimal standards of conduct in order to protect the civilians and meet their needs, she added.
