CAPITALS August 29. 2024 (Saba) - International newspapers revealed on Thursday that the United States gave the Zionist enemy the green light for the military operation launched by its army in the West Bank on Wednesday.
According to the American newspaper "The New York Times", the Israeli army has been conducting almost daily raids on Palestinian towns and cities in the West Bank since the seventh of last October, but Wednesday's operations "looked different from previous ones."
Israeli raids have failed to curb resistance but have endangered the lives of thousands of Palestinian civilians and put them in the crosshairs.
Mahmoud al-Saadi, director of the Jenin branch of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, said Israeli army vehicles surrounded roads leading to hospitals and set up checkpoints in Jenin, slowing down the work of ambulances.
Medical Aid for Palestinians, a British charity, said in a statement that attacks and restrictions on healthcare workers constituted violations of international humanitarian law.
In the Zionist media, Haaretz said that the latest US punitive measures against extremist Israeli settlers are the latest attempt by Washington to put an end to the further deterioration of the security situation in the West Bank.
The newspaper described the U.S. measures as "an attempt to halt the deterioration on other fronts." The sanctions, she said, "perpetuate the growing public hostility by U.S. officials toward radical Israeli ministers."
On the other hand, an article in the Chinese newspaper "China Daily" said that the United States is fully aware of Israeli operations in the West Bank, saying that the US administration "pretends to be a peace broker" and that it does not actually take or implement any concrete measures on the ground.
