SANA'A August 26. 2024 (Saba) - The Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission approved, in its meeting on Monday, headed by Vice President of the Commission, Redan Mohammed Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakel, the referral of 17 accused in cases of corruption, harm to the state's interest, seizure, facilitation of seizure, and embezzlement of public funds to the Public Funds Prosecution Office specialized in corruption cases to complete the procedures for initiating and filing a criminal lawsuit against them before the Public Funds and Anti-Corruption Court.
This came after the Commission discussed in its meeting the results of the investigation and inquiry procedures in a number of serious corruption cases, and the amount of damage in those cases amounted to 69 million and 591 thousand dollars, and 321 million and 800 thousand riyals.
The Commission took measures and decisions against the accused to suspend them from work and seize funds and assets equivalent to the amount of damage to public funds.
