SANA'A August 26. 2024 (Saba) — The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a forecast indicating thunderstorms of varying intensity in several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to the center's latest weather bulletin, rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, descending winds, and possible hail, is anticipated in the highlands of Taiz, Ibb, Dhale', Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Amran, Mahweet, Hajjah, and Sa'ada provinces.
The rain is expected to extend westward, affecting Tihama Plain and the western coasts of Lahj, Hodeida, and Taiz provinces
Additionally, thunderstorms and variable rainfall are predicted for Bayda, Mahrah, Hadramout, Aden, the highlands of Shabwa, Abyan, Lahj provinces and scattered areas of Marib and Jawf provinces.
The center urges citizens to exercise extreme caution, especially in valleys and areas prone to flash floods, and to avoid exposure to thunderstorms, strong winds, and falling hail.
The possibility of reduced visibility due to rain and low clouds, as well as potential rockslides on mountain roads and damage to mud and traditional buildings, has been highlighted.
Authorities are advised to implement necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property and to stay updated with ongoing weather reports from the National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning.
