ICC prosecutor urges immediate arrest of Netanyahu, Galant

THE HAGUE August 24. 2024 (Saba) - International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan has called for an urgent decision on the arrest warrants for Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

In a request submitted to the court, which was made public last night, Khan urged the judges handling the case to expedite their decision on issuing the arrest warrants against the Israeli officials, stressing the importance of swift action.

Khan emphasized that "any undue delay in these proceedings adversely impacts the rights of the victims."

He asserted that the ICC has jurisdiction over the crimes committed by Zionists in Palestinian territories and urged the judges to dismiss appeals filed by various governments and other entities.

In his request, Khan stated, "It is legally established that the court has jurisdiction in this matter." He dismissed legal defenses based on the Oslo Accords and "Israel's" claims that it is conducting its own investigations into alleged war crimes.

Khan originally requested the ICC to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Galant on May 20.
