Al-Rubai, al-Hadi launch veterinary kits project to enhance animal health services in Sana'a

SANA'A August 19. 2024 (Saba)— Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Radwan Al-Rubai and Sana'a Governor Abdulbasit al-Hadi on Monday inaugurated the first phase of the veterinary kits project in Sana'a province.

This initiative aims to improve animal health services across the region by distributing 34 motorcycles and 64 veterinary kits to animal health workers and veterinarians.

The project, funded by the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit and coordinated by the development cooperative societies, the Social Affairs and Labor Office, and Bunyan Development Foundation, focuses on underserved areas in the province. The first phase will prioritize districts, areas, and villages most in need of veterinary services, which had previously been overlooked.

Minister al-Rubai emphasized that the project aligns with Revolution leader's directives Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi to enhance animal health and livestock care.

He noted that the initiative is expected to significantly reduce disease cases and improve veterinary service performance both locally and nationally.

Governor al-Hadi highlighted the project's significance, noting that it coincides with the celebrations of the Prophet's birth anniversary.

Al-Hadi stressed the importance of prioritizing areas most in need and urged animal health workers to deliver services with dedication, in line with the political leadership's vision for agricultural development.

The project, backed by a 40 million Y.R loan from the Agricultural Financing Unit, is expected to expand to all districts in the province, aiming to alleviate the burdens on livestock owners and ensure comprehensive veterinary care in rural communities.
