SANA'A August 17. 2024 (Saba) – The Parliament held a session on Saturday, led by Speaker Yahya al-Rai', to discuss the Government of Change and Construction's program.

The program, presented by Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi, outlines plans for national reform amidst ongoing challenges. The Parliament decided to refer the program to a special committee for further review and incorporation of members' comments.

The Parliament convened under Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, with Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahwi and government officials in attendance.

The session began with al-Rai' welcoming the government and reiterating the Parliament's support for its reform efforts.

Al-Rahawi outlined the government’s program, emphasizing its alignment with Yemen's national vision and the need to address ongoing challenges, including aggression and economic difficulties.

The program includes six main axes, focusing on steadfastness against aggression, administrative and institutional reform, economic policies, public services, domestic and foreign policy, and justice.

Parliament Vice President Abdul Salam Hashoul highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Parliament and government, stressing transparency and oversight.

Vice President Abdul Rahman Al-Jamai called for prioritizing draft laws and amendments.

After extensive discussions, the Parliament approved referring the program to a special committee, led by Hashoul, to review and integrate the comments from Parliament members.

The committee will report back with its findings.
