DOHA August 01. 2024 (Saba) -The body of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Ismail Haniyeh – on Thursday – arrived in Doha in preparation for his funeral to his final resting place tomorrow, Friday, in the presence of the people and the participation of Arab and Islamic leaders.
Funeral prayers for the deceased will be held after Friday prayers at the Imam Mohamed bin Abdul Wahab Mosque in the Qatari capital, according to Palestine Today
Earlier in the day, the Iranian capital witnessed a funeral ceremony for the head of Hamas' political bureau, in the presence of both official and popular figures, the day after his assassination at his residence.
Hamas confirmed that Haniyeh was assassinated just before dawn yesterday after being targeted by an Israeli raid.
The leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, led funeral prayers over Haniyeh's body, amid a crowd of mourners carrying pictures of the deceased and Palestinian flags at the University of Tehran.
Large crowds of Iranians attended Haniyeh's funeral in Tehran.
A truck with Haniyeh's coffin and his companion Wassim Abu Shaaban walked towards Azadi Square in the capital, Tehran, and was accompanied by mourners who praised the resistance and raised banners demanding revenge for the assassination of Haniyeh while he was a guest in Iran, and burned Israeli flags.
