DOHA July 31. 2024 (Saba) - Abdul Salam Haniyeh said on Wednesday that "his father was subjected to four assassination attempts throughout his national career, but he survived them, and today God has sealed his martyrdom as he always wished."
He added in statements reported by the media that he "lived through many stages of struggle with his father, from exile, captivity and persecution," saying: "My father prepared the family for such a day, as he used to tell us since we were young that he might ascend to martyrdom at any moment, and thank God that he received this honor."
Abdul Salam Haniyeh continued that his father "was keen on national unity and sought to unite the Palestinian ranks."
He concluded by stressing that "this assassination will not stop the determination of the resistance until liberation." Hamas announced today, Wednesday, the assassination of its political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in an Israeli raid on his residence in Tehran.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said, "We are studying the dimensions of the incident of Haniyeh's martyrdom in Tehran and will announce the results of the investigation later."
The enemy's media reported that the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued instructions to government ministers not to comment on the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.
Media sources said that the assassination was carried out by a missile launched from outside Iran.
