SANA'A July 30. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting at the Ministry of Transport chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, discussed joint projects between the Civil Aviation Authority and the General Organization for Roads and Bridges in the field of air transport, which are planned to be implemented during the coming period.

The meeting, which included the Minister of Transport in the caretaker government Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, the Undersecretary for the Air Transport Sector Abdullah Al-Ansi, the heads of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority Dr. Mohamed Abdul Qader, the General Organization for Roads and Bridges Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Hadrami, and the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Authority Raed Jabal, reviewed the mechanism for implementing the strategic projects of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority and its various sectors that will be implemented by the Roads Corporation to develop the air transport infrastructure.

In the meeting, Dr. Maqbouli stressed the importance of land, sea and air transport services in meeting the humanitarian needs of the Yemeni people.

He pointed to the interest of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in service projects for the transport sector due to the importance of this sector in economic development.

For his part, the Minister of Transport touched on the most important projects that need support in order to implement them. He pointed out that the transport sector has implemented during the last period projects in the field of air, land and sea transport with self-financing.

He explained that the next phase requires everyone to cooperate to support strategic projects in the various transport sectors.

In addition, the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority and the General Organization for Roads and Bridges signed a joint cooperation agreement to improve and develop the infrastructure of the authority and its various sectors, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs, and the Minister of Transport.

The agreement, which was signed by the heads of the Aviation Authority, Dr. Mohamed Abdul Qader, and the General Organization for Roads, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami, included the implementation of projects of importance in the airport sector, most notably Sana'a International Airport, in accordance with international specifications and requirements.

Maqbouli stressed the importance of the agreement in embodying the cooperation between the authority and the corporation in the field of construction and infrastructure development.

Minister Al-Durra pointed out that the agreement will contribute to the development of the infrastructure of Sana'a International Airport, which is preparing to receive all civilian flights and multiple destinations during the coming period.
