DHAMAR July 30. 2024 (Saba) - The West Dhamar City Primary Court held a trial session using videoconferencing technology.
The defendant in the case was residing outside the country and was unable to return to continue the proceedings.
The head of the West Dhamar Primary Court, Judge Khaled Khurais, explained that the session was held remotely using the Internet, where the plaintiff recognized the defendant through his photo, heard his voice, and conversed with him via videoconferencing technology in the courtroom.
Judge Khurais pointed out the importance of modern technology and its use in facilitating litigation procedures, especially in the absence event one of the parties and the inability to attend the court's jurisdiction.
He stated that this step will contribute to overcoming some of the challenges that cause delays in cases, as a result of the non-acceptance of requests directed from Yemeni courts to courts in other countries, or even cases of the inability of a party to attend for compelling reasons accepted by the court, even if he is within the Republic.
