SANA'A July 23. 2024 (Saba) - Chief Prosecutor of Sana'a province Appeals Prosecution Judge Waddah al-Qershi has ordered the release of 33 prisoners during his visit to the pretrial detention facility in the province.
In his statement Saba, al-Qershi explained that the visit aimed to inspect the prison, assess the number of inmates, and facilitate the release of those eligible in accordance with the law and the directives of the Public Prosecutor.
The Judge noted that the prisoners' needs and demands were heard, resulting in the decision to release 22 inmates without any guarantee after they fulfilled their public rights. Additionally, 11 prisoners were released on guarantee.
The visit also included a review of the services and health care provided to the prisoners, as well as ensuring proper nutrition in accordance with legal standards.
He affirmed the Public Prosecution's commitment to protecting rights and freedoms and achieving justice despite ongoing aggression and siege.
The Judge condemned the recent brutal Israeli aggression on the port of Hodeida, which resulted in significant casualties and material damage, as a desperate attempt to dissuade the Yemeni people and their courageous leadership from their steadfast support of the Palestinian cause.
