GENEVA July 14. 2024 (Saba) - The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has announced the response of WHO and its partners to the casualties resulting from the series of Israeli air strikes on the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis, south Gaza Strip, which led to the death of 90 Palestinian citizens, the injury of 294, and the loss of many others under rubble.
Ghebreyesus said, on his account on the “X” website, that 134 seriously injured people were admitted to the Nasser Medical Complex, which is facing great pressure due to the influx of wounded, noting that WHO staff are present in the hospital, along with two emergency medical teams, to treat the injured.
The organization sent 50 folding beds and 50 stretchers to increase the hospital's capacity, noting that some of the wounded were transferred to a field hospital in Deir Al-Balah.
The World Health Organization sent medical supplies to cover the urgent needs of 120 patients.
