SANA'A July 14. 2024 (Saba) - The supervisory teams of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in cooperation with the Industry and Trade Prosecution in Sana'a city, seized a factory for counterfeiting and adulterating various detergent products, trademarks and country of origin.
The Director of Central Operations at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Najib Al-Athri, explained that the seizure process came after a wide investigation and tracking of adulterated materials in the markets under the supervision and follow-up of the ministry's leadership until reaching the source of these adulterated products and informing the Industry and Trade Prosecution to issue judicial orders to seize the factory and its workers.
He pointed out that the factory was collecting plastic containers for detergents such as "flash, Clorox, Comfort and Vatika shampoo", re-cleaning them, printing fake labels on them, packaging them and distributing them in the markets.
Al-Athri pointed out that the representatives of the Standards Authority took samples of these materials for examination and submit an integrated report to the prosecution and include them in the case file.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prosecutor of Industry and Trade Judge Abdul Nasser Al-Baidani confirmed that the prosecution issued orders to seize and close the factory and seize the seized quantities, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry in the presence of representatives of the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control.
He pointed out that the seized quantities of detergents for the body, hair, clothes and brand labels were seized. He pointed out that the prosecution continues investigations into the case and completes the procedures in preparation for referring the case file to the court.
