ALGERIA July 13. 2024 (Saba) - The Algerian Ministry of Culture announced the postponement of all major art festivals scheduled for this summer in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating war since October 7, 2023.

“In the face of the escalation of the horror of the massacres committed by the occupation forces and the genocidal war, the ministry decided to postpone all major art festivals that were scheduled for this summer,” The Minister of Culture and Arts, Suriyya Mulji, said in a statement today, Saturday.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian Ministry of Culture organizes major artistic festivals every summer, with the participation of major singers within Algeria and from the Arab world, such as the “Timgad” festival in Batna Governorate (east), and “Al-Kazif” in the capital, Algiers.

The Ministry also stated that it “will adapt other cultural and intellectual activities to the solidarity position in support of the Palestinian cause.”
