G7 condemns enemy government’s announcement legitimizing five colonial outposts
[Thu, 11 Jul 2024 20:35:17 +0300]

ROME July 11. 2024 (Saba) - The foreign ministers of the G7 member states on Thursday condemned the announcement by the Zionist enemy government of its intention to legalize five colonial outposts and seize 12,700 dunams of land in the occupied West Bank.

A statement distributed by the Italian G7 presidency said: “We, the foreign ministers of the G7... join the United Nations and the European Union in condemning the announcement by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to legalize five settlement outposts in the West Bank.”

The statement also rejected “Israel’s decision to confiscate more than 12,700 dunums of West Bank land and declare it “state land.”

The G7 ministers also condemned "the decision to expand the existing settlements in the occupied West Bank by authorizing (the construction of) 5,295 new housing units and three new settlements."

They said that the Israeli settlement program "contradicts international law and leads to results contrary to the cause of peace."
The G7 also called on Israel to release “all frozen Palestinian funds,” “cancel or ease measures that worsen the economic situation in Gaza,” and “take all necessary measures to ensure the continuation of correspondent banking services between Israeli and Palestinian banks.”

The Group of Seven is an organization consisting of the seven largest economies in the world: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The Israeli occupation government's approval, late last June, of legitimizing five colonial outposts in the West Bank, and advancing plans to build thousands of new colonial units across the West Bank, was met with widespread Arab, international and international condemnation.
