GENEVA July 09. 2024 (Saba) -The United Nations human rights experts said on Tuesday that famine has spread throughout the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian News Agency, the UN experts explained that the death of children in the Gaza Strip due to malnutrition and drought confirms the spread of famine, noting that the death of a child due to malnutrition and dehydration indicates that health and social structures are attacked and seriously weakened.
The experts stressed that the starvation campaign carried out by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people constituted genocide and caused famine, calling on the international community to prioritize the delivery of aid to Gaza by land and end the Israeli blockade.
The residents of the northern Gaza Strip, numbering about 700,000 people, suffer from severe shortages of food and vegetables, as a result of the continued closure of the border crossings by the Zionist enemy and the failure of trucks to enter the north, which brings the "specter of famine" to the fore again, according to local officials and international organizations.
