JENIN July 5. 2024 (Saba) - The number of fatalities resulting from a drone strike by Israeli forces on a group of young men in the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank rose to seven by Friday morning. Simultaneously, the Israeli forces besieged and targeted a house with an "Energa" missile.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, as reported by the Palestinian Information Center, seven people were confirmed dead and one critically injured individual was brought to Jenin Governmental Hospital due to the ongoing Israeli military actions in the city.
Earlier today, Israeli forces entered Jenin and laid siege to a house in the western part of the city known as "Harsh Al-Saada."
Local reports indicated that military vehicles from Haifa and Nazareth Streets were used by occupying forces to enter Jenin, where they surrounded the residence of Ahmed Marwan Juma'a al-Ghoul in Horsh al-Saada. They proceeded to strike the house with an Energa missile and opened fire, demanding through loudspeakers that the young man inside surrender.
In the vicinity of the besieged house, clashes erupted between local youth and the occupying forces, though no casualties were initially reported.
According to the Ministry of Health, those who lost their lives were identified as Ahmed Bassem Al-Amouri, 20, from the Jenin camp; Qusai Amjad Hazouz, 23, from the eastern neighborhood of Jenin; Fouad Iyad Aziz Ashqar, 25, from al-Sila al-Harithiya town west of Jenin; Yassin Ahmed Mahmoud Al-Aridi, 30, from the village of Jalqamous northeast of Jenin; and Muhammad Mahmoud Muhammad Jabareen, 54.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society also reported responding to two severe injuries near Ibn Sina Hospital. Among them was an 18-year-old struck in the neck by occupation gunfire, who was subsequently transferred for medical treatment.
