SEOUL June 27. 2024 (Saba) - North Korea announced on Thursday that it had successfully tested the launch of a multi-warhead missile, emphasizing that the test had achieved all stages of warhead separation, control, direction, and target accuracy.
According to North Korea’s official KCNA news agency, "On June 26, the military successfully conducted separation and guidance control testing of individual mobile warheads."
The agency added, "The separate mobile warheads were successfully directed to three designated targets."
The test is aimed at enhancing North Korea's capability to launch multiple warheads with a single ballistic missile.
This development follows a recent announcement by the South Korean military that North Korea had launched what appeared to be a hypersonic missile off its eastern coast a day earlier, which exploded mid-air.
