SA'ADA June 25. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting convened in Sa'ada province on Tuesday, chaired by governor Mohammed Awad, to discuss the province's electricity situation amidst the ongoing challenges faced due to continued aggression and siege.
The meeting focused on identifying and resolving the obstacles hindering electricity services in the governorate, leveraging available resources.
Participants in the meeting emphasized their commitment to restoring electricity operations across various districts through coordinated efforts between the Ministry of Electricity, local authorities, and the private sector.
Governor Awad outlined measures aimed at enhancing electricity services and promptly addressing any arising issues within the governorate.
He underscored the importance of submitting comprehensive reports detailing electricity challenges at the district level, emphasizing collaborative efforts and teamwork to overcome sectoral difficulties and resume electricity supply across all districts.
Meanwhile, Electricity Director in the province Ahmed Faye provided an overview of the electricity sector’s challenges in Sa'ada province resulting from years of aggression and siege.
He commended the Ministry of Electricity’s leadership for supporting electricity operations in several districts and acknowledged the province's proactive role in overcoming current obstacles.
Faye highlighted the necessity for districts directors, local councils, and security agencies to collaborate closely with the province electricity department to safeguard its network and transformer assets.
