Sana'a – Saba:

Member of the Supreme Political Council Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor and Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi on Saturday officially inaugurated the new academic year 1447 AH across the Capital Sana'a and various governorates.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development Mohammed al-Madani and Minister of Education, Scientific Research and Higher Education Hassan al-Sa'adi, saw Dr. Bin Habtoor extend his congratulations to all students throughout the Republic on the commencement of the new academic year.

"For the tenth consecutive year, the academic year is being launched under aggression and siege, and during a critical period in the history of our Yemeni people, whom the aggressors sought to disrupt the educational process at all levels," Dr. Bin Habtoor stated.

He affirmed that the "criminal aggression and siege imposed by the enemies have not weakened the resolve of the Yemeni people, nor their leadership and its political and intellectual directions."

He added, "We are now experiencing successive victories, which began with thwarting the aggression launched against Yemen, an aggression that aimed to subjugate the steadfast, patient, and loyal Yemeni people, who stand united with their leadership in forging victory."

Dr. Bin Habtoor concluded by wishing every student, teacher, and school administration success in achieving their aspirations for the academic year, emphasizing that "education is the sole path to achieving the nation's great goals and objectives in development at all levels."

For his part, Prime Minister al-Rahawi commended the significant student turnout on the first day of classes, which he said "embodies the students' and their families' keenness on academic achievement and acquiring knowledge."

He highlighted that "the world today is engaged in a struggle for knowledge, considering it the foundation for achieving advancement in various fields of life, especially economic ones, which represent another front in the global struggle at present."

Addressing the students directly, al-Rahawi urged them: "You must be keen to arm yourselves with knowledge, perseverance, and diligence in your studies, reviewing daily lessons promptly, completing your homework, and not procrastinating or delaying it until another day."

He noted that "a student's diligence and perseverance from the beginning of the academic year will spare them arduous effort at the end of the year and facilitate their successful completion of final exams with brilliant success."

Al-Rahawi also encouraged all students to take care of their schools and ensure their cleanliness and appearance, while also safeguarding the integrity of their equipment, such as chairs and tables.

He wished them success in their future educational pursuits, whether through joining universities, community colleges, or technical and vocational institutes, ultimately enabling them to serve their nation in various fields.

During the inauguration, attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed al-Muwalad, Minister of Information Hashem Sharaf al-Din, Capital Sana'a Mayor Dr. Hamoud Ubad, Minister of Education, Scientific Research and Higher Education Hasan al-Sa'adi underscored the importance of knowledge as a fundamental pillar for the renaissance of nations and building their future.

He stressed that this requires concerted efforts and for everyone to realize their responsibilities to ensure the success of the educational process, considering it a national responsibility.

Al-Sa'adi urged students to strive diligently in acquiring knowledge and self-development, enabling them to excel and achieve brilliance in various development fields to fulfill their expected role in building the nation.

He also touched upon the ministry's efforts to ensure the academic year's success, commending the steadfastness of educators and their continued performance of duties despite the repercussions of the ongoing aggression on public life and living conditions.

He praised the large student turnout on the first school day, which reflects their eagerness for academic achievement.

Hadi Ammar, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Basic Education, affirmed the "importance of mobilizing efforts and energies to overcome all challenges resulting from the continued aggression and unjust siege on Yemen.

He confirmed that the ministry had completed all necessary preparations and arrangements for the new academic year, creating suitable conditions to welcome over six million male and female students in basic and secondary stages across various public and private schools.

On the sidelines of the inauguration, a meeting was held involving Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed al-Madani.

The meeting focused on enhancing the stability and success of the new academic year in the Capital Secretariat and the governorates.

Minister al-Sa'adi and Undersecretary Ammar presented the efforts made to ensure the academic year's success, along with a working paper titled "Education is Everyone's Responsibility."

The meeting emphasized the critical importance of mobilizing efforts and resources to support the educational process, stemming from the national and religious responsibility incumbent upon all relevant central and local authorities.

This aligns with the directives of Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and the instructions of Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, recognizing education as a top priority that requires everyone's contribution to meet its urgent basic needs.
