ROME June 22. 2024 (Saba) - The Italian coastguard on Saturday said the death toll from the sinking of a migrant boat off the southern coast of the country has increased to 34 people, after 14 additional bodies were recovered.

"14 bodies were recovered, bringing the confirmed number of victims to 34, while more than 60 others were missing," The Italian coastguard said in a statement, as the search for the missing continued by air and sea after the sinking of the boat last week.
