MOSCOW June 8. 2024 (Saba) - The "North" group of the Russian army said it had improved its position along the contact line in the past 24 hours and carried out strikes on Kiev strongholds, killing more than 145 Ukrainian soldiers.
During combat operations, the group's units improved their position along the line of contact, and artillery and heavy flamethrowers targeted points and places of concentration of troops and equipment of the 128th Regional Defense Brigade and the 31st Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine in the Makarovka and Urogaini regions (in the Republic of Donetsk), TASS news agency quoted the head of the group's press center, Alexander Gordeev, as saying.
In the last 24 hours, more than 145 Ukrainian military personnel, two armored vehicles, a howitzer, three electronic warfare stations, six drones and three ammunition supply points have been eliminated, he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry on Friday said that progress had been made within the framework of the special military operation, improving the situation on many fronts and inflicting heavy losses on Kiev forces in lives and equipment amounting to about 1,280 military personnel.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed yesterday that Russian forces are gradually defeating the enemy from the territory of the Donbass, noting that since the beginning of 2024 47 towns and 880 square kilometers have been liberated.
