Zionist enemy persists in its atrocities in Gaza, Rafah despite International Court of Justice's order to immediately halt its aggression

CAPITALS May 26. 2024 (Saba) - The Zionist enemy's forces continue till now their crimes, massacres, and genocidal acts by incessantly bombarding the Gaza Strip, including the densely populated city of Rafah with displaced persons, despite the International Court of Justice's order for the enemy to suspend its military operations in Rafah "immediately".

In this context, Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling have once again renewed overnight in the northern, central, and southern areas of the Strip, after more than seven months since the Zionist aggression began on Gaza on October 7th last year, indicating the enemy's determination to escalate its criminal acts by committing further atrocities without the slightest regard for the decisions of the international community.

In the past 24 hours alone, approximately 81 additional Palestinian martyrs have fallen, raising the death toll in the Gaza Strip to about 36,000, the majority of whom are civilians since the beginning of the war, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

The ministry stated in its daily update that the enemy forces committed eight massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 81 martyrs and 223 injuries admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours.

The ministry affirmed that the toll of the Zionist-American aggression has risen to 35,984 martyrs and 80,643 injuries, the majority of whom are children and women, since October 7th last year.

It added that there are still victims under the rubble and on the streets whom ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach.

The Zionist enemy's army began a ground attack on the city of Rafah, located in the southernmost part of the Strip near the Egyptian border, on May 7th.

On the other hand, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, reiterated his assertion that "no one has a license to commit war crimes or crimes against humanity," explaining that "the means (used in doing so) are what define us."

Khan pointed to several accusations leveled against the Zionist entity, including "the fact that water was cut off... and that people lining up for food were targeted, and that people from relief organizations were killed."

In an interview with the British newspaper "Sunday Times" published today, Khan said, "This is not the way to wage war," adding, "If this is what compliance with international humanitarian law looks like, then the Geneva Conventions serve no purpose."

Khan emphasized that "this is a critical moment internationally, and unless we adhere to the law, we will have nothing to hold onto."

He continued, saying, "Countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia are closely monitoring the situation to see if international institutions will seek to uphold international law."

Khan's statements came in response to a question regarding his request for the issuance of arrest warrants against the Prime Minister of the Zionist enemy, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his war minister, Yoav Galant, on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The warrants, if approved by the judges of the International Criminal Court, mean that all 124 countries party to the Court would be technically obligated to arrest Netanyahu and others subject to warrants if they were to travel to those countries.

On the other hand, the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights affirmed today, Sunday, that the Zionist enemy's forces continue to violate the decisions of the International Court of Justice, openly intensifying shelling, killing, and destruction immediately after the session and thereafter.

The human rights observatory documented more than 60 Zionist airstrikes on Rafah in the past 48 hours after the International Court's decision, in addition to firing dozens of artillery shells and continuous gunfire in areas where Zionist vehicles penetrated vast parts of the city.

The United Nations Observatory said, "During the past 48 hours (after the Court's decision), we have documented the martyrdom of 13 Palestinians so far, including six from one family, an elderly mother and three of her children, including two girls, due to Zionist shelling on their home."

The human rights observatory pointed out that civilians in Rafah are paying the price for Zionist military attacks that grossly violate the principles of international humanitarian law, especially the principles of distinction, proportionality, and military necessity.

It mentioned that as a result of the ongoing Zionist military assault on Rafah, it is still impossible to access the distribution center of UNRWA and the warehouse of the World Food Program, both located in Rafah.

It also noted that the Zionist enemy forces continue to close the Rafah border crossing to travel, including the travel of patients and the wounded, since the reoccupation of the crossing on the dawn of May 7th, and continue to prevent the entry of humanitarian aid through it by one day.

The Euro-Mediterranean Observatory stressed that talk of an agreement to allow aid trucks through Kerem Shalom crossing, which the enemy forces closed on the fifth of May.
