The Russian "Novosti" news agency quoted Slutsky as saying, commenting on the words of Czech President Petr Pavel that the participants in the Washington summit would provide Ukraine with "security guarantees in bilateral agreements," that "talking is possible only through reliable guarantees to guarantee Russia's indivisible security." in the first place".
The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Chairman of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, said in a statement on his “Telegram” channel, according to the “Novosti” agency: “We proposed that they accept the principles of reciprocity in a legally binding agreement in December 2021, but after that they continued to lie."
He explained that Western countries continued to lie and talk about "NATO's open-door policy and the result is known."
It is noteworthy that the Russian leadership has confirmed since the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis its readiness to negotiate in order to reach a solution, provided that the new reality on the ground and Russia’s security demands are taken into account.
While Kiev refuses to negotiate with Moscow, and with the support of the West, led by the United States, continues to resort to a military solution.
