SANA'A May 11. 2024 (Saba) - The parliament, in its session held today,Saturday, headed by the Deputy Speaker, Abdel Salam Hashol, denounced the American policies that contradict the demands of the Palestinians , their right to defend themselves and establish their independent state with Holy Al-Quds as its capital.
The Council considered these policies part of the ugly face of arrogance, and chaos that the United States of America is spreading in the world to subjugate the capabilities of peoples and confiscate the rights of free people to live in dignity.
The Parliament also called on the United Nations and the international community to work quickly to stop the series of Zionist crimes represented in seizing Palestinian lands by force, and to stop the ongoing attacks by herds of settlers on the Palestinians, the attacks on headquarters and relief workers.
In the session, the representatives reviewed the report of the joint committee from the Committees on Codification of the Provisions of Islamic Sharia and Justice and Endowments regarding a draft law for the year 2020 AD adding an article to Republican Decree Law No. 12 of 1994 AD regarding crimes and penalties and criminalizing insulting prophets and messengers.
The people's representatives urged the concerned authorities to strengthen periodic supervision and control prices in a manner commensurate with the living conditions of citizens and to confront the effects of the repercussions of the aggression and siege.
The representatives also stressed the importance of the government side attending to discuss this in a future session.
In addition, the Council heard from Council Member, Hussein Kasra, a question addressed to the Minister of Electricity and Energy, about the reasons that prevented the electrical supply from being connected to the city of Al-Qatea, despite the main power passing through the city of Al-Qatea, Sokhna Al-Mansourieh.
The Council member requested the presence of the Minister of Electricity and Energy to answer the question directed to him as soon as possible, in accordance with the text of the Council’s internal regulations.
