SANA'A May 09. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects varying thunderstorms to fall over parts of several provinces, hot weather in deserts and coastal areas during the next 24 hours.
The center said in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected in parts of Sa'ada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Sana’a, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhale' province and the Tihama Plain.
Scattered rain is likely to fall on the highlands of Al-Jawf, Marib, Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadramaut provinces, parts of the eastern and southern coasts and the corresponding interior regions.
The center warned citizens of the flow of torrents in the reefs and valleys, the presence in their streams, as well as thunderstorms, and the decrease in horizontal visibility on mountain roads due to rainfall and the formation of fog or water mulch.
It urged citizens in desert areas , coastal plains not to be directly exposed to the scorching rays of the sun during the afternoon, warning of high temperatures , high humidity in coastal areas, and advised to wear appropriate cotton clothing.
