Sana'a - Saba:
The distribution of Sidr seedlings was launched on Monday in the Khawlan District of Sana'a Governorate as part of a project to plant 100,000 seedlings across the governorate's districts.
At the inauguration, the director of the district, Raad Al-Jamli, explained that 2,000 Sidr seedlings will be distributed to development associations and development knights in the district's sub-districts.
He urged everyone to participate, pay attention, and educate community members about planting seedlings, given their numerous benefits, such as bee pastures and soil protection and cohesion against erosion.
He pointed out that the inauguration comes within the framework of the governorate's plan to expand the cultivation of Sidr trees in various villages, regions, and sub-districts, given their economic returns.
Meanwhile, the directorate's agricultural official, Nabil Jaafar, called on development associations in the districts and Fursan Al-Tanmia to take the initiative to receive seedlings, educate the community about their importance, and plant them in valleys and along stream banks to use them as a food source for bees and pastures for livestock, contributing to the expansion of vegetation cover and increasing green space.
The inauguration was attended by the heads of the Border Association, Hamid Al-Hadi, and the Green Association, Muhammad Al-Jamali, the directorate's coordinator of the Binyan Development Association, and local figures.
