MOSCOW May 3. 2024 (Saba) -Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev confirmed that the upcoming conference on Ukraine in Switzerland will be further evidence of the collapse of the "peace plan" proposed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
On Friday, the Russian "TASS" news agency quoted Medvedev as saying: "What is the benefit of the Swiss 'peace conference'? It will be further evidence of the collapse of the so-called peace plan of the fool Zelensky."
He added: "Our armed forces will be allowed to continue cleaning Russian lands of neo-Nazis without hindrance and not look back, and it will push us all to work to quickly return our ancestral lands to Russia."
Earlier, the Swiss authorities stressed the need for the Russian side to reach a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian conflict, but they did not invite Moscow “at this stage” to attend the Ukraine summit.
This came in a statement issued by the Swiss Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding the planned peace conference regarding Ukraine, where the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the necessity of Moscow’s participation in the peace process... noting that a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine will not be reached without the Russian side, except Russia has not been invited "at this stage."
The Kremlin stated earlier that there are no prerequisites for the situation in Ukraine to move to a peaceful track, but Russia's absolute priority is to achieve the goals of the Russian special military operation, which can now only be achieved through military means.
As the Kremlin stated, the situation in Ukraine could move towards a peaceful track, provided that the actual situation and new facts on the ground are taken into account.
