Sana’a – SABA:
The Yemeni Parliament strongly condemned the United States’ obstinate position and continued support for the massacres and war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued today, Parliament denounced the U.S. use of the veto power at the United Nations Security Council against a draft resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and an end to Israeli aggression.
The Parliament affirmed that the American veto contradicts the will of free nations and peoples who have expressed their condemnation of the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians in Gaza, as shown through widespread protests and statements considering silence over the events in Gaza a crime against humanity.
The statement called on parliamentary unions, parliaments, and free people around the world to take urgent action to save the Palestinian people from famine and massacres that the Israeli occupation has been committing for nearly two years. It emphasized that the U.S. administration’s use of the veto against demands to end the war and siege on Gaza reflects direct American involvement in genocide against the Palestinian people.
The Parliament stressed that the American veto serves as a green light for further brutal crimes against unarmed civilians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Moreover, the Parliament condemned the ongoing silence and inaction of the international community, asserting that without this complicity, the Israeli occupation would not have dared to continue killing and starving over two million Palestinians living in catastrophic conditions in Gaza. The situation calls for a revival of human conscience to stop the escalating American-Israeli aggression, which has exceeded all international, humanitarian, and moral norms and conventions.
