Gaza – Saba:
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has considered the assassination of four Palestinian journalists, carried out on Thursday in the courtyard of al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, a complex war crime.
Hamas said in a statement, "In a new war crime, the Zionist enemy army this morning bombed a group of journalists while they were in the courtyard of al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, leading to the martyrdom of journalists Suleiman Hajjaj, Samir al-Rifai, and Ismail Badah, and the serious injury of several others."
It indicated that this crime is "a systematic Zionist policy targeting Palestinian journalists to silence their voices, deter them from covering the crimes of the Israeli enemy in Gaza, and obliterate its just narrative that bears witness to the enemy's horrific crimes against the Palestinian people."
The agency added, "This crime constitutes a complex war crime, as it assassinated journalists protected under the Geneva Conventions and all international conventions, and bombed a civilian hospital protected under international law. This reflects the insistence of the government of the war criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu, wanted by the International Criminal Court, to expand the circle of genocide against the Palestinian people, and its blatant disregard for the international community and its legal and humanitarian systems."
Hamas held the US administration directly politically and morally responsible for the escalation of the Zionist enemy's crimes, after it used its veto in the Security Council yesterday to abort the ceasefire proposal, providing new cover for the bloody aggression on Gaza.
It called on the international community and its international institutions, primarily the United Nations and the International Federation of Journalists, to take urgent action to hold the Zionist enemy accountable for its ongoing crimes and to protect journalists, civilians, and humanitarian facilities in the Gaza Strip.
