TOKYO April 28. 2024 (Saba) -The private Japanese company Astroscale Japan published the world's first image of space debris, taken near it by a special remote-controlled satellite.
According to what was reported by the Russian "TASS" news agency on Sunday, the image taken by the private satellite from a distance of a few hundred meters shows a stage for a missile, without indicating its type and to which country it belongs.
It quoted a source at the Japanese company as saying: “Taking this image is an unprecedented step and represents a major step in the field of understanding and solving problems associated with space debris.”
It is worth noting that the company (Astroscale Japan) was able earlier this month to organize a safe approach for its satellite from space debris, and it plans to repeat the process in the future to take additional pictures of space debris from different angles.
