MOSCOW May 12. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Cabinet has announced that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has submitted his proposals for the formation of a new government.
Sputnik quoted the Russian Cabinet as saying in a statement "In accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Federal Law "On the Government of the Russian Federation", the head of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, submitted proposals on the formation of the new government to the State Duma for consideration."
The Minister of Defense, the head of the Federal Security Service, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Emergency Situations, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs are appointed by the President himself after consultation with the Federation Council.
According to the statement, Mishustin proposed the appointment of Denis Manturov as first deputy prime minister.
He proposed to appoint Alexander Novak as Russia's deputy prime minister for the fuel and energy complex and the economic bloc.
Mishustin also proposed the appointment of Dmitry Patrushev as deputy prime minister in charge of agriculture and the environment.
He proposed to appoint Anton Siluanov to the post of finance minister, the statement said.
Mishustin proposed appointing Kemerovo governor Sergei Tsevelev as energy minister, the statement said.
The statement noted that Mishustin proposed to appoint Kaliningrad Governor Anton Alikhanov as Minister of Industry and Trade.
Earlier , Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On the structure of federal executive bodies", forming the new cabinet, which states that the new Russian government will include 21 ministries and ten deputy prime ministers, including the first deputy.
