BERLIN April 24. 2024 (Saba) - Germany intends to resume cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza, after a review that concluded UNRWA's neutrality.
According to the German News Agency, the German Foreign and Development Ministries, in a joint statement today, Wednesday, urged UNRWA to quickly implement the recommendations of the audit report, including strengthening internal oversight and strengthening external supervision of project management.
The two ministries explained, in a statement, that “in support of these reforms, the German government will soon resume its cooperation with UNRWA in Gaza, as Australia, Canada, Sweden, Japan and other countries have done.”
