MOSCOW April 18, 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Thursday morning that it had thwarted attacks launched by the Ukrainian army on Russian territory using ballistic missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, drones and balloons.

The Russian Defense said in a statement that last night, air defense systems destroyed two missiles, 19 shells from rocket launchers, 16 drones, and two small balloons over the territory of Belgorod Province.

Russian air defenses also shot down three drones over the territory of the Rostov Oblast, and intercepted one drone and destroyed three small balloons over the Voronezh Oblast.

Belgorod District Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that two people, a man and a woman, were injured as a result of the Ukrainian attacks on the district last night.

In Voronezh, the district governor, Alexander Gusev, said that falling debris from the hostile drone caused damage to a number of private homes, while a woman was moderately injured.
