WASHINGTON May 01. 2024 (Saba) - American police and Zionist-supporting students have attacked protesting students at California University in Los Angeles.
According to Agence France-Presse, police fired tear gas at the protesting students, while pro-occupation students assaulted and beat several students.
Several participating students in the sit-in were also arrested. American reports indicate that the number of Palestinian-supporting students arrested has exceeded 1000 from 25 campuses since April 18th.
Last night, New York police stormed Hamilton Hall at Columbia University and arrested dozens of students during their protest against the ongoing Zionist aggression on Gaza.
In the context of the ongoing impact of student protests, Christina Paxson, president of Rowan University in Rhode Island, northeastern United States, informed protesting students Wednesday of the university's readiness to withdraw all investments related to "Israel" in exchange for ending the sit-in and terminating the student camp set up by protesters demanding an end to the war on Gaza.
The highest administrative body of the university will vote on the decision during its upcoming meeting based on an agreement between protest organizers and university administrators.
Among the key demands of protesting students in their camp since last Wednesday, in addition to the university withdrawing its investments from companies with ties to "Israel," is the dropping of charges against 41 students arrested in a sit-in at the university hall on November 11th.
