JAKARTA April 18, 2024 (Saba) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday called on the United Nations to play its role in stopping the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The Chinese minister added, after talks with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi in Jakarta, that the two countries are keen to maintain peace and stability in the region.

He also expressed his hope that the United States would listen to the international community regarding the ongoing war in Gaza.

During their conversation in Beijing yesterday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stressed the importance of ensuring sustainable, unhindered access to humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and called on influential countries to play a constructive role in maintaining regional peace and stability, with the aim of reaching a solution, comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause.
