SANA'A March 13. 2024 (Saba) - The shooting operation by mercenaries of aggression against the mediation committee tasked with opening the Sana'a-Dhale-Aden road was met with widespread criticism from all the Yemeni people who were very optimistic by the initiative to open the road by the leadership in Sana'a.
The Presidential Committee and the Military Committee in charge of coordinating the opening of the Sana'a-Dhale-Aden road, along with the mediation committee, which includes representatives of civil society and many sheikhs and notables began their work on Tuesday to go down to Al-Dhale Governorate in order to open the road and remove any obstacles in it, after prior coordination with the other party, but as soon as it arrived in the Maris area, it was subjected to heavy fire with various weapons by the mercenary militia.
Apart from the mercenaries' intentions, Sana'a has assigned a presidential and military committee to coordinate and take the necessary measures and arrangements to open this vital road, which will reduce travel hours between Sana'a and Aden to only eight hours.
The two committees, along with the popular and civil mediation committees, began to remove the dirt barriers and open the road in the areas of authority of the Supreme Political Council, but as soon as they reached the first mercenary point in the Zaila area in Maris, the gunmen of the other side surrounded the committees and targeted them with light and heavy weapons in a clear effort to thwart those efforts, and continue to tighten the noose on citizens and deprive them of the most basic rights to use the road safely and peacefully.
Following the targeting of the committees, many mercenary leaders gave some flimsy justifications for targeting the mediation committees, which they claimed were for security reasons.
On the other hand, this blatant attack sparked a campaign of widespread criticism on social media and the media, where activists considered that it reveals the fears of these factions about the interruption of the levies they earn through the points spread on the Al-Dhale-Aden line and their refusal to give them up.
A member of the mediation committee to open the road, Dr. Hamoud Al-Awdi, described the failure of mercenaries to mediate efforts to open the road as painful and sad, which can only be interpreted as an irresponsible, hostile act that harms the interests of citizens, Yemen and Yemenis in the south, north, west and east.
In statements to the media, Al-Aoudi stressed that everyone was optimistic about the mediation efforts in this blessed month, because of the importance of this step in ending the great suffering that citizens and travelers are exposed to as a result of crossing long and risky roads.
He pointed out that this initiative would have represented the first beginning of the opening of the main roads, and that the conditions were prepared by all parties, after everyone moved based on continuous contacts with the other party in Aden and Al-Dhale, but once the control of the other party was reached, everyone was surprised by a barrage of fire and shells raining down on them, which led to the injury of two people.
By thwarting efforts to open this vital road linking Sana'a and Aden through Al-Dhalea governorate, it became clear that the media campaigns that mercenaries have been repeating and deafening throughout the past period under the title of opening roads were nothing but bidding and trying to confuse the position of the Yemeni people and the revolutionary leadership in support of the Palestinian people.
Many observers and analysts believe that the campaign led by mercenaries recently under the banner of opening roads came at the behest of the countries of aggression to try to create confusion and preoccupy Yemenis with secondary issues that prevent Yemen's position in support of the Palestinian people.
The countries of aggression themselves, along with mercenaries, are the ones who imposed the siege on the Yemeni people in 2015 and closed all land and sea ports leading to the areas under the authority of the Supreme Political Council, coinciding with the complete closure of airspace, even to humanitarian flights, as Sana'a International Airport is still closed to this day despite the consequent human suffering of millions of Yemenis.
The mercenaries who are crying today on the closed roads have been justifying all this siege against Sana'a and the areas it administers, indifferent to the pain and tragedies that have befallen Yemenis over the past years as a result of the closure of Sana'a airport and the port of Hodeidah.
Overnight, everyone noticed their frenzied campaign against Sana'a since the start of the battle of "Al-Aqsa Flood", in which Yemen and its armed forces participated strongly alongside the Palestinian resistance as a religious, moral and humanitarian duty to support our brothers in Palestine who were failed by their Arab and Muslim compatriots.
All of the above provides only one explanation, which is that the mercenaries and those behind them the countries of aggression seek through distortion of the position of Sana'a and try to thwart it to serve the Zionist enemy in its criminal aggression against the Palestinian people, as an extension of the treacherous position of the major Arab countries towards the Palestinian cause.
Despite that, Sana'a was able once again to silence the tongues of mercenaries and countries of aggression through its initiative to open many roads in Taiz and other governorates, the latest of which was its great interaction with the mediation committee to open the Sana'a-Dhale-Aden road, which began its work yesterday and collided with the intransigence of mercenaries with multiple loyalties to the countries of aggression, who revealed to far and wide that their noise and media war was the only aim of distorting Yemen's honorable position towards Palestine, and diverting attention from Zionist crimes against the Palestinians.
