GAZA February 21. 2024 (Saba) -Based on a visit to Atsion prison two days ago, nearly 90 percent of the 105 Palestinian inmates there were beaten and tortured since their arrest until arrival at the detention center, the Palestinian organization for captives and freed prisoners said in a report.
The situation in the prison is disastrous, the group's advocator said, as the rooms are overcrowded with prisoners most of whom sleep on floor amid insufficient beds, blankets, clothes and enclosable windows making the rooms too cold and susceptible to rainwater.
Still, jailers knock at rooms' doors at midnight to deprive inmates from sleeping, and sometimes the prisoners are ejected from rooms to yards with no justification or respect to their health conditions, she added, according to Mayadeen.
