GAZA January 18. 2024 (Saba) - The Zionist enemy forces blew up Al-Isra University building in Gaza, 70 days after occupying it and turning it into a military barracks and a detention center, today, Thursday.
According to Ma'an News Agency, Al-Isra University denounced in a statement the aggression that targeted the capabilities of its students, the most recent of which was the bombing of the main graduate studies and bachelor's college building in southern Gaza, about seventy days after the enemy army occupied it and used it as a military base for its vehicles and a center for sniping civilians.
The university explained that the aggression was not limited to the main building only; It also affected the National Museum, which Al-Isra University has always been proud of establishing, a national museum licensed by the Ministry of Antiquities, the first in the country, It included more than three thousand rare artifacts, which the occupation soldiers and officers looted before blowing up the museum building to cover up the effects of their crime.
The administration of the university, whose capabilities were destroyed by the occupation, indicated that “this was not its main loss at all, but rather a group of its students, professors and employees who were martyred on the path to liberating the homeland and achieved the highest levels of honor with their degrees.”
It stressed that targeting educational institutions in the Gaza Strip during the current aggression comes within an old and systematic context that has never stopped since the beginning of this conflict, through which the occupation tried to spread the culture of ignorance and exclude the Palestinian people from keeping pace with the march of science and civilization and kill scholars with the mean assistance of Western immigration institutions.
