[11/December/2023]

NEW YORK December 11. 2023 (Saba) - The United Nations General Assembly plans has set this Tuesday to vote on a proposed resolution calling for immediate ceasefire for humanitarian reasons in Gaza.

The move comes after the United States on Friday vetoed against a UNSC proposal on ceasefire in the besieged Strip, diplomats said.

The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Gutters, last week decided to use the UN Charter's Article (99) for the first time, warning that Gaza war could worsen outstanding risks to international peace and security.
